LOGLINE:
When Kullervo’s family is destroyed by his tyrant uncle, he becomes a slave whose quest is to find his true identity and re-establish the natural order through the power and wisdom of his ancestors.
SHORT PITCH:
Our story is based on the oldest oral wisdom tradition in Europe – the Kalevala Heritage of the ancient Finnish tribes in Northern Europe – which changed J. R. R. Tolkien’s life when he was 19 years old. Late professor of European literature, Juliette Monnin-Hornung stated that Kalevala Heritage is unique in the world, because:
Their heroes were not the fighting soldiers, but seekers of knowledge and wisdom. They had not hierarchies in their societies, nor almighty gods. – But still they lived in harmony with nature and each other. Their women and men were equally powerful. The same Laws of Nature guided the humans and heavenly bodies alike.
Today the same Laws of Nature warn us! During millennials humanity has alienated from nature and on the way to extinction along with the rapidly increasing loss of nature. But the wisdom in the exciting Kalevala Heritage’s stories still carry the power to awaken people – the young and old generations – to stop the loss of nature for healing planet Earth and ensuring the survival of humanity.
