Subsequent to working in theatre and costume design entered the TV industry in BBC post-production  moving onto management for independent companies on prestige music and animation programs.  A passion for the environment led to directing concert video Eco Rock with w/wide sales.  She went on to head the  development department of  a London production company looking after a slate of scripted and factual programs and wrote and produced youth drama for Channel 4.  Under the auspices of her own company  has written a  number of TV and feature scripts, been a consultant on screenplays in most genres and lectured in screen-writing and production.   As a Director shorts include: Poem for A Pier with acclaimed actor Steven Berkoff,  Story’s End and LA Edge and the recently completed  feature documentary PCH-1.   Carey studied Fine Art & Theatre Design  for 4 years  at Wimbledon College for the Arts  with 2 years full time post-graduate studies at the London International Film School.  A multi-skilled practitioner,   work includes character design, storyboarding and multi-media project LA Environs.
